earlier very simple single or a pair of cattle heads with hay body arrived at the temples, as the men evolved so did these cattles.... from covered body clothes to lihted decorative pairs , now these cattles shake heads and blink eyes ... few years from now we may see robotic cattle forms dancing to the latest tunes of musics... BUT ONLY THE FIELDS WHERE THESE BULLS/ OXENS/ CATTLES ONCE PLOUGHED , WILL NEVER BE THERE. THE WHOLE HARVEST FESTIVAL WILL BE JUS A NAME SAKE.. THE TEMPLES WILL GROW BUT FIELDS WILL SHRINK

Festival Poorama is celebrated in temples across central kerala. Decorated elephants march towards temple along with traditiona bands called melam and panchavadyam. Bull and horse replicas are also brought to get the blessings from the godess for the respective regions under the temple. This is Chinakatoor kavu Pooram.
